## About

I am Fernando Saci, a musician and community percussion leader who creates welcoming spaces for people to learn through rhythm. My approach brings musical guidance, cultural context, movement, and collective energy together, helping participants feel confident whether they are new to percussion or already experienced.
In my maracatu workshops, I connect the patterns and pulse of this Afro-Brazilian tradition with an accessible, participatory experience. I guide each group through listening, playing, movement, and shared practice, creating room for curiosity, respect, and expression. Participants leave with a deeper sense of rhythm and a meaningful connection to the culture behind the music.

A More Personal Way to Learn Through Rhythm
I lead participants through the foundations of maracatu in a supportive, hands-on setting. The session combines percussion patterns, call and response, movement, and attentive listening so the group can build a shared pulse together.
The experience is adapted to the energy, age, and musical background of each group. Alongside playing, I offer context about Afro-Brazilian culture and the tradition of maracatu, encouraging participation that is both joyful and respectful.

## FAQ

### What does a percussionist do?

A percussionist creates and shapes rhythm using instruments that can add pulse, texture, movement, and cultural character to music. Their contribution may support a live ensemble, a recording, a performance, or a collaborative creative project.

### What is the difference between a composer and a music producer?

A composer develops musical ideas such as melodies, rhythms, harmonies, and overall structure. A music producer helps guide how those ideas are developed, arranged, recorded, and presented as a finished musical work.

### How can percussion enhance a musical project?

Percussion can give music energy, depth, contrast, and a strong sense of movement. A professional percussionist can help select and perform rhythmic elements that complement the mood, arrangement, and cultural context of the work.

### Can a musician work across different musical styles?

Many professional musicians collaborate across styles, drawing on listening, technique, and sensitivity to the character of each project. The most effective approach respects the musical tradition while allowing room for thoughtful interpretation and creative exchange.

### What should I consider when choosing a music professional?

Look for someone whose musical approach, communication style, and understanding of your creative goals feel aligned with the project. Clear discussion about the desired mood, role, collaborators, and artistic direction can help establish a productive working relationship.
